WD40 Please

Ian just figured out how to ride his bike earlier in the week. He doesn't always pay attention to where he is going because he watches his shadow or is concerned about what other people are doing outside. He occasionally tries riding one handed, but always seems to go in circles when he does.

Bubble wrap

Here is a slightly old video of Ian running on bubble wrap supplied by Grama Becca.

Heavy Metal Drummer

Went to the Walker Art Center this morning with Ian for a free first Saturday for families. They had several activities where children could "toy around with design and architecture to transform everyday materials into spaces for hoopla and hullabaloo." Ian had no interest in designing structures with marshmallows and wooden skewers - it just made him hungary. He spent about 20 minutes drawing a picture of things he saw through the window-see pic. We also wandered through the galleries a bit and found a drum kit way up in a secluded corner of gallery 7. The drums seemed to be hooked up to some sort of machine, which gave us the impression that something would happen when you hit them, but nothing did.

New Jeans

We stopped by Old Navy to pick up some new socks for Ian on Sunday. He has finally grown out of the 6-12 month size. We wound up getting him a couple pairs of jeans too. He requested the style with a loop on the leg so he could carry his hammer. So, we got him the 3T adjustable waist painters jeans. He looks pretty cute in them (see photo) but his waist is so skinny that we had to tug the inside straps about 7 button holes on each side to prevent him walking with them around his ankles.
